Dead Garden Studio is a one-man operation based in North Berkeley, Calif. Everything is made by Neil Freese. The ethos of Dead Garden is to be creatively adventurous and embrace the limitations of working in a garage studio.
Handmade processes are inherently imperfect and therein lies the magic. I embrace the wabi-sabi approach of accepting each piece as it happens to be. I mostly make small cups and vases, and each piece is hand painted and unique.
